The studio was founded by Dylan Li, an ARB-registered architect. Born from a contemplation of architecture and the essence of living, BQL studio stands at the meeting point of space, culture, and emotion. We believe that design is more than a visual composition — it is an extension of memory and time, a gentle and profound dialogue between people and place.

From architecture to interiors, from products to brands, we express culture through the language of contemporary design. Each creation is an homage to beauty and craftsmanship, a reinterpretation of human values and the rituals of everyday life.

At BQL, innovation is not the pursuit of trend, but a return to authenticity — a craftsmanship guided by balance, and an approach that unites worlds. We find harmony between artistry and logic, allowing design to carry both poetic presence and intellectual depth.

Dylan Li

Founder & Director

Dylan, born in the historic hutongs of Beijing, seamlessly blends Eastern philosophy with Western architectural thinking. He holds degrees from the University of Liverpool, the Royal College of Art, and the University of Westminster, and is an ARB-registered architect in the United Kingdom.

Before founding the studio, Dylan spent over a decade working internationally, including at leading architectural firms such as Zaha Hadid Architects and Gensler London. His award-winning projects, featured in FRAME magazine, include the 2017 Mixology London “Best Commercial Office Design”.

Dylan’s design philosophy balances rationality and poetry, seeking harmony between aesthetics, culture, and commercial value — transforming each space into a sensory narrative and an immersive human experience.

Song Song

Architect

Song Song holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from University College London (The Bartlett School of Architecture) and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

Song Song worked at MAD Architects, where he contributed to several major projects including the Tencent Dachenwan Project in Shenzhen, Changchun Airport Design Competition, Yimu Grand Theatre, Shanghai Wuning Road Dream Renovation Project, and the Changzhou High-Speed Rail New City.

With extensive experience in architectural design, Minzhe brings a solid professional background and a refined design sensibility to every project he undertakes.

Michelle Zhang

Marketing Manager

Michelle has over ten years of experience in marketing and business development within the architecture and interior design industry. She has previously worked at internationally renowned design firms such as ATKINS and HBA, serving clients including global hotel groups such as Marriott, Hilton, and IHG, as well as leading real estate developers and public-sector clients.

She excels at accurately understanding client needs and project objectives, and is highly skilled in full-cycle project coordination—managing details, resources, and timelines with precision. Her work is driven by a commitment to high-quality project delivery, ensuring that every design outcome is both professionally executed and of long-term value.
